Appeal to actively participate in CSR activites
Dear All,
As you are aware that our Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli has launched a Corporate Social Responsibility Project “SANKALP” under which it was decided to adopt the villages and hamlets where there is need of basic infrastructure. The basic infrastructure requirement of such villages and hamlets were identified. And accordingly the Administration called a meeting of Industries Association, Industrial Houses and prominent Industries of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. In the said meeting, Under the Corporate Social Responsibility, Hon. Administrator appealed to the industries of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, to shoulder their responsibility of providing the identified basic infrastructures facilities for the poor and needy people residing in such villages and hamlets..
During the said meeting, Industries and Big houses had expressed their willingness to share their responsibility under CSR and they assured that the Industries having obligation under CSR shall develop and provide the said infrastructure facilities in the villages and hamlets which in interior part of this territory. It was also agreed that the medium and small industries who do not have any obligation under CSR, shall also come forward and voluntarily contribute for this noble cause and shall extend their support to the needy people staying in such small villages in the interior of DNH.
It is understood that some of the Industrial Corporate Houses have undertaken various projects under the CSR obligation, but the detail information of such projects have not been furnished to the Association or to the Administration.
So the actual ground reality is not known to the Association or to the Administration and it is felt that no work has been initiated by the respective Industries in spite of their commitment. So it is requested that all the Industries who have undertaken such projects under CSR may send the brief notes of their project to the Association and Administration for their information and records. It is brought to the notice of our Association by the Administration that though the large number of industries had promised to discharge their obligation under CSR, but only few Industries have taken any steps under the project. The response of industries is very poor and even large units are not fulfilling their obligation.
All colleague industries are once again requested to actively participate in the projects under CSR and shouldertheir responsibilities towards the society. We industries have set up our units in this backward area of DNH. As we are running our industries in this area, we are duty bound to undertake the social responsibility and share our responsibility towards poor and needy people of the society. By such gestures we will be able to contribute for the society, which is our moral responsibility also.
Though Administration and Associations have frequently appealed to the Industries but the response is very poor, so the industries are once again requested to come forward and actively participate in the CSR activities.And in case any Industry has already undertaken any project under CSR please share the information with Administration and Association.
