Circular issued by the Honl. Secretary (Labour and Employment), DNH and DD.
Dear all,
Your association SIMA is in receipt of a Circular No. LE/LI/DMN/UPW/Advisory/2020/404 dated 17.09.2020 issued by the Hon'ble Secretary (Labour & Employment), DNH & DD.
As per the Circular, the UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu had issued Notification No. LE/LI/DMN/PWTE/207/2016/104 dated 05.04.2017 and No. LEO/PWA/2017/856 dated 24.08.2017 that all the Employers of industries or other Establishments in DNH & DD shall pay the wages to every person employed in the industrial or other Establishment only by cheque or by crediting the wages in the Bank Account of the Employees.
In spite of the said direction, the instances of disbursing the wages to the employees in cash form have been noticed, which is a clear violation of Section 6 of the Payment Wages Act,1936.
Hence, UT Administration has directed to all the Industries in DNH & DD to adhere to the above directions strictly with immediate effect.
