Circular issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, GOI regarding spending on CSR Funds.
Dear all,
Your association SIMA is forwarding herewith a Circular No. 01 of 2021, dated 13.01.2021 issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. Of India regarding Clarification on the spending of CSR Funds for Awareness and public outreach on the COVID-19 Vaccination programme.
As per the Circular, the Ministry has clarified that spending on CSR Funds for carrying out awareness campaigns on COVID-19 Vaccination Programme is an eligible CSR activity under item no. (i), (ii) and (xii) of Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013 relating to the promotion of health care, including preventive health care and sanitization, promoting education and disaster management respectively.
Hence, the companies may undertake the aforesaid activities subject to fulfilment of Companies (CSR Policy) Rules, 2014 and the circular related to CSR issued by this Ministry from time to time.
