Circular issued on 15/10/2018 by Labour Dept,D&NH regarding issuance of ID Card for workers/employee

Your association SIMA is forwarding herewith a Circular No.LEO/ID-Card/2291/2018 issued on 15/10/2018 by Labour Department, Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The scanned copy of the circular is enclosed herewith for your reference.
Vide the circular the Labour Department has raised concern regarding the issuance of identity card to the worker's/employee's. As per the previous Circular No.LEO/ID-Card/1172/2018 dated 27/08/2018 the Labour Enforcement Officer has notified to all the Contractors/Industrial Owners that they should keep details of identity proof and also issue identity cards to their employees. The copy of the same is attached herewith for your quick reference.
However, the Labour Enforcement Officer, Dadra & Nagar Haveli has found after the inspection in an Industrial Establishment that the Labour Contractor has not provided Identity Cards to the workers, further the contractor has not maintained proper documents and registers for the same. In this regard, the Labour Department has directed to all the Industrial Establishments/Labour Contractors to issue identity cards to their workers/ employee in case they fail to issue identity cards then they shall be liable for severe actions under the provisions of the various labour laws.
