Your association SIMA is pleased to inform you that Hon'ble Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC), Gurugram Haryana has passed an SUO MOTU Order and has granted various reliefs.

Hon'ble Commission opined that in the present epidemic situation, while some relief has been made available to the DISCOMs/EDs by CERC under the directions of Govt. of India, some reliefs also needs to be given to the electricity consumers who are adversely affected by the Lockdown situation across the country.

In order to mitigate the difficulties and hardships faced by the consumers of the State of Goa and Union Territories under the jurisdiction of JERC.

Hon'ble Commission has passed the suo motu order to grant relief to the adversely affected consumers.

The key features of the order are,

1) provisional bill to be raised and meter data may be sent to the consumer.

2) digital payment should be encouraged

3) Extension in payment due date for 2 weeks.

4) LPSC down to 1% instead of 2%.

5) Moratorium on payment of Fixed Charges shall be provided to all industrial and commercial consumers for the bills raised during the period from 24/3/2020 to 30/6/2020, which they can avail if they so desire. These deferred fix charges shall be Recovered in an equated manner over the next three bills to be raised after 30th June’2020.
