Dear all,

Your association SIMA is in receipt of a letter from Federation of Industries Associations, Silvassa which is attached herewith.

This is to inform you that, Federation of Industries Associations, Silvassa has sent a letter to Shri Arun Jaitleyji, Hon’ble Chairperson, Goods & Service Tax Council, New Delhi for granting of Refund during GST period to existing manufacturers having already granted exemptions up to 31.12.2017 as per Notification No. DNH/CST/35/1935, dtd:05/02/2003. As you all are aware that, exemption offered to new industries as per Notification No. DNH/CST/35/1935, dtd:05/02/2003 from CENTRAL SALES TAX, which is in force till 31.12.2017. Many entrepreneurs set up new units and made significant investments under the said exemption scheme. As this exemption is under CENTRAL SALES TAX (CST), vide the said letter Federation of Industries Associations, Silvassa has requested to grant the refund till the period of 31.12.2017. This refund may be given either through centre or may be disbursed from UT wherein 50 % CGST is going to accrue from 01.07.2017 and also requested to check the eligibility and consider granting the refund as per the said notification.
