Notification Regarding Redact or Blackout the Aadhar Number from KRA KYC.

Your association SIMA is forwarding herewith a Notification No. CVL/OPS/INTERM/GENRL/19-120 Issued by CDSL Ventures Limited Dated On 04th April 2019. Regarding Redact or Blackout the Aadhar Number from KRA KYC that Intermediaries are advised to refer to PMLA notification dated February 13, 2019, Regulation (x) Subsection (16): every reporting entity shall, where its client submits his Aadhaar number, ensure such client to redact or blackout his Aadhaar number through appropriate means where the authentication of Aadhaar number is not required. (Refer Annexure A).
Currently, in the KRA the first 8 digits of Aadhaar number is being masked and only the last 4 digits are being shared by the KRA. In view of the PMLA notification, Intermediaries are advised to blackout the first 8 digits of the Aadhaar number on the copy of Aadhaar before uploading the same on KRA Portal.
