Order issued by SMC regarding disposal of waste by the Bulk Waste Generators
Dear all,
Your association is forwarding herewith an Order issued by Chief Officer, Silvassa Municipal Council, Silvassa, Dadra & Nagar Haveli vide Order No. SMC/CO/SBM/2016/60/7091, dated 05/07/2018. The scanned copy of the order is enclosed herewith.
Vide this order it is informed that, Silvassa Municipal Council shall not collect, accept, process or allow the waste generated by the bulk waste generators in dustbin maintained by Silvassa Municipal Council. These bulk waste generators shall have to process their own waste from 30th July 2018.
As per order the following are coming under the Bulk Waste Generators categories.
- All Hotels having 20 rooms and above.
- All Restaurants with 50 seats and above.
- All societies with 100 flats and above.
- All industries whatever their size and nature.
- All Construction and Demolition waste generators.
- Educational Institutions with strength of 300 and above.
- All Hotels with 20 rooms and above.
- All places of worship with carpet area of 100 sq. mt. and above.
- All Clubs, Gymkhanas, Marriage Halls.
- All Sports Complex
- Any other premise included in definition of Bulk Waste Generator as per Bye Law No. 3.11.
As informed in the order, the wet waste may either be composed or may be used to make biogas and the dry waste may be processed at the premises of Bulk Waste Generators as per Solid Waste Management Rule, 2016, or at some common processing site.
