Your association SIMA is forwarding herewith a Presentation on review of precautionary measures and preparedness for the impending cyclone in the Arabian Sea, by UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.

As you all are aware that, The Cyclonic Storm “Tauktae” (pronounced as Tau’Te) over the east-central and adjoining southeast the Arabian Sea & Lakshadweep area moved nearly north north-westwards with a speed of about 09 kmph during the past 06 hours and lay centred at 05:30 hours IST of 15th May 2021 over east-central and adjoining southeast the Arabian Sea near latitude 12.5°N and longitude 72.5°E, about 160 km north northwest of Amini Divi, 350 km south-southwest of Panjim-Goa, 960 km south-southeast of Veraval (Gujarat) and 1050 km south-southeast of Karachi (Pakistan).

Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph likely over the northeast Arabian Sea and along & off south Gujarat & Daman and Diu coasts on 17th morning and gradually increase becoming Gale winds speed reaching 150-160 kmph gusting to 175 kmph over the northeast Arabian Sea from 18th morning and along & off Saurashtra & Kutch coasts (Devbhumi Dwarka & Porbandar) and 120 -150 kmph gusting to 165 kmph over Kutch, Porbandar, Junagarh, Jamnagar districts of Gujarat from 18th May afternoon/evening for subsequent 06 hours.
