Press Release by the Disaster Management Authority, regarding Cyclonic Storm in the Arabian Sea.

Your association SIMA is forwarding herewith a Press Release No. ADM/DM/Cyclone-Tauktae/393/2020/1163, dated 16/05/2021, issued by the Disaster Management Authority, Collectorate, Silvassa, U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
As per the BULLETIN NO.18:-(ARB/01/2021) from Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) dated 16/05/2021, 1730 hours Depression over Lakshadweep area and adjoining southeast & east-central the Arabian Sea has intensified Into a Deep Depression Pre-Cyclone watch for south Gujarat & Diu coasts.
This Depression is very likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm (surface wind speeds of 80-90 gusting to 100 kmph) during the next 24 hours and is very likely to intensify further during the subsequent 24 hours. It is very likely to move initially north northeastwards for some more time. It would then move north northwestwards and reach near the Gujarat coast by 18th May morning.
