Prohibition of use of animals in soaps and detergent manufacturing

Your association is in receipt of an order No. 25/51/2015-CPCSEA dated 24/11/2015 issued by S. Gowri Shankar, Dy. Secretary (AW) & Member Secretary, CPCSEA , Government of Indian Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, New Delhi. The scanned copy of the same is enclosed herewith.
As you are aware that, many of the companies are experimenting their products like soap and detergent on animals. So theCommittee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), formed under Section 15(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, has prohibited the manufacturers of soaps and detergents from carrying out any experiments on animals.
So, any unit manufacturing soap and detergent are hereby requested not to carry out any experiment of their products on any animals, otherwise they shall be booked under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
