Dear all,
Your association is forwarding herewith a Public Notice issued by Central Ground Water Authority, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Govt. of India vide Notice No.26-1/CGWA/PN/2018 dated 14-11-18 The scanned copy of the public notice is enclosed herewith for your ready reference.
As per Judgment /orders of Hon’ble NGT, New Delhi dated 13.7.2017, 28.8.2018, 29.8.2018, 22.10.18 and 12.11.2018, the due date to submit applications for No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) through NOCAP is extended up to 31.03.2019.
Vide the public notice it is informed that all users drawing water without a valid NOC from Central and States/UT authorities are directed to submit their applications for NOC by or before 31.03.2019 to the concerned authorities /authorized officers. It is clarified that the industries/projects drawing groundwater without a valid NOC or in violation of prohibitory directions of Hon’ble NGT are liable to pay Fine/Environmental Compensation/ Damages as may be decided by Hon’ble NGT, New Delhi on first conviction. The industries/projects which have already been convicted by Hon’ble NGT are also liable to pay fine at the rate of Rs. 5000/- per day for continued violation after first conviction. The cases of NOC under specific orders/direction of Hon’ble NGT shall be dealt in accordance with the directions of Hon’ble NGT.
