Special package for employment generation and promotion of exports in Apparel and Made Ups sector
Dear all,
Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has unveiled a package of reforms for generation of 1 crore jobs in the Textiles and Apparels industries over next 3 years. The package includes various measures, which are labour friendly and would promote employment generation, economies of scale and boost exports. The step will lead to a cumulative increase of U$$ 30bn in exports and investments of Rs. 74000 crore over next 3 years.
The majority of new jobs are likely to go to women since the garment industry employees nearly 70% women work force in the industry. Thus, the package would help in social transformation through women empowerment.
