Your association SIMA is forwarding herewith Public Information regarding the Empowerment of Electricity Consumers Electricity (Consumers' Rights ) Rules.
All electricity consumers are informed that the Ministry of Power, Government of India has passed the Electricity (Consumers' Rights) Rules, 2020 on 31.12.2020 under Section 176 of the Electricity Act, 2003.
Under these rules, consumers have been given the right to a 24X7 power supply and consumers have the right to claim compensation from the distribution company if the distribution company deliberately resorts to load shedding. The Central Government has also prescribed norms for the maximum time taken by a distribution company for various services which include connection, disconnection, reconnection, shifting, change of consumer category and load, bil related services and resolution of voltage and bill related complaints. Are.
