Circular of registration for construction workers under the BOCW Act.
Dear All,
Your association SIMA is in receipt of a Circular No.LEO/BOCW/HOARDINGS/WS/2018/2288 dated 16/10/2018 issued by Labour Department, Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The scanned copy of the same is enclosed herewith for your ready reference.
Vide the circular it is informed that The Building and Other Construction Workers (RE &CS) Act, 1996 and the Building and Other Construction Workers, Dadra and Nagar Haveli Rules 2003 are enforced in the U.T. of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Silvassa.
As per the act, it is mandatory for Building and Other Construction workers to get registered with the welfare board constituted by the appropriate government. Further, it is informed that construction site supervisors/ contractors/ labour suppliers, etc are directed that the building and other construction workers working under them shall be registered with the Welfare Board.
Industrial establishments/ builders/contractors are requested to get register their construction and other workers in the Welfare Board's office at Labour Department, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Silvassa.
All the colleague industries are hereby requested to go through the attachment for further clarification regarding the circular.
